What is facial rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is a service available to patients with various cosmetic concerns. The doctors at Friedberg Eye Associates use facial rejuvenation techniques to tighten the skin on the face, reduce areas of redness, eliminate brown spots, and encourage collagen production. A gentle and minimally invasive way to look and feel better.

Several different rejuvenation services are available to patients, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and laser or IPL (OPL) treatments.

How does it work?

Many of Friedberg Eye Associates’ skin rejuvenation procedures involve laser treatments. The doctors at Friedberg Eye Associates use 2 different Cynosure lasers to provide treatment to patients: the Pelleve wrinkle reduction system and the Icon Aesthetic System.

Pelleve works by heating deep layers of the patient’s skin with radiofrequency energy. This causes the skin’s collagen to contract, leading to tighter skin and fewer wrinkles.

Icon works by using laser or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)/ optimized pulsed light (OPL) energy to remove pigmented lesions, rosacea, small blood vessels, dark hair, treat scars, and reduce wrinkles. Icon also offers cooling technology to keep the patient comfortable during treatment.

Who is a good candidate for facial rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is appropriate for patients who have scars, pigmented skin lesions, wrinkles, or any other basic aesthetic complaint. Doctor Andrea Friedberg uses Botox, Xeomin, and various dermal fillers such as Juvederm to address blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, fine lines, wrinkles, and folds, as well as to add volume to the face. The Pelleve laser is appropriate for wrinkles around the mouth, folds between the eyebrows, lines on the forehead, and loose skin. The Icon system is ideal for the treatment of brown spots, scar treatment, rosacea,  small blood vessels and wrinkle reduction.

Is facial rejuvenation painful?

Facial rejuvenation treatments aren’t very painful. During laser treatments, patients may experience a very brief sensation of heat and light when the laser comes into contact with the skin. However, cooling technologies are utilised to keep the patient comfortable. During Botox or Xeomin treatments and treatment with dermal fillers, several topical numbing techniques are employed to reduce discomfort when the doctor performs these injections.
